Invisible Histories is an LGBTQ Southern community based archive. Invisible Histories locates, collects, researches, and creates community-based, educational programming around LGBTQ history in the Deep South. Invisible Histories believes archiving is resistance to oppression and history leads to liberation. In our work, we center joy and community while never erasing the painful and complicated experiences of our folks. We WILL save our stories, one box at a time.

Invisible Histories also manages Queer History South a network of over 600 people across the South working to better save and understand Southern Queer and Trans stories.

This blog serves as a way for us, our interns, our partners and friends to share their work in a way not bogged down by the bureaucracies of traditional publishing. Here you'll find stories of LGBTQ people across the South; research projects our student interns are working on; approaches to collecting and researching these histories; the ramblings of Invisible Histories staff and other; and much more.
